SYNOPSIS
A pious Hasidic man living a secret double life misplaces his black hat, causing his two separate lives to collide in a way he never imagined.
BLACK HAT screened at over 35 film festivals across the globe, including the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, and was awarded the 2019 Iris prize, the largest short film prize in the world. BLACK HAT also won the best LGBT short at the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes, and the Rhode Island Film Festival. Additionally, BLACK HAT was awarded the Youth Jury prize and the Film Movement award from the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, and was also the 2019 Film Pipeline runner-up.
